RICE PUDDING

Although we have never grown rice in Andorra, it has been an element of our cuisine for many years. The desserts that we now propose are another variant of a recipe that has many preparations throughout Europe and the rest of the world. They are made with several types of rice and flavoured with all kinds of spices, from cinnamon in our country, to vanilla in Saxon countries, to saffron and cardamom, from several countries of the East.

 

RECIPE

Preparation for 4 people:

First of all, boil the milk with a pinch of salt and stir.

When it starts to boil, add the lemon peel, rice and sugar.

Let it simmer until the rice is cooked and thick (about 20-25 minutes).

Remove the lemon peel, sprinkle the rice in one or a few recipients and sprinkle vanilla on top.  A home made delicacy.

-150 g of rice
-1 litre of milk
-200 g of sugar
-1 pinch of salt
-Lemon peel
-Vanilla powder
