The Illa refuge, near the lake of the same name, is the most modern and highest in Andorra, at 2,488 m. The refuge is located in the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape. In addition to shelter, the refuge offers accommodation and catering services during the summer and winter seasons, in an incomparable high-mountain setting.
